Hélène Vandenberghe has been co-director of the estate of her father, Philippe Vandenberg, since 2009. An art historian by training, Hélène began her career in 2000 as a curator at the Huis van Alijn, Ghent. In 2002, she co-founded the heritage weekend in Flanders and Brussels before taking up a position, in 2008, as the artistic advisor to the CEO of the Centre for Fine Arts (Bozar) in Brussels. In 2012, Hélène Vandenberghe and Stella Lohaus co-founded ‘SOS Artistieke Nalatenschap’ with the aim of providing practical advice on managing artistic legacies within Belgium. Since 2015, she has worked as a special adviser to The Institute for Artists’ Estates in Berlin and gives advice on estate matters all over Europe.
