Jean Frémon was born in 1946 and is a French writer and gallerist. He is the CEO of Galerie Lelong in Paris and New York. Since 1969, he has published a number of works of fiction as well as essays on art, many of which have been translated into English and Spanish. In 1981, along with Jacques Dupin and Daniel Lelong, Jean Frémon founded Galerie Lelong in Paris, and then opened the New York gallery in 1985. Some of the artists with whom he has collaborated the most closely include Antoni Tàpies, Louise Bourgeois, Donald Judd, Jannis Kounellis, Sean Scully, David Hockney, Jaume Plensa, and Etel Adnan.
