Jérôme Poggi is a graduate of Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, Paris) and holds a Master’s degree in Art History from the University of Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne. After several years in the institutional milieu of art, he founded in 2009 Galerie Jérôme Poggi, initially located in the North of Paris, which opened a second space in 2014 in the Marais. The gallery, which represents some 20 international artists of different generations, is particularly present on the international scene. At the same time, Jérôme Poggi founded a not-for-profit structure called SOCIETIES which experiments new forms of economic policies for art, going beyond the conventional frameworks of the institution and the market. It develops, among other things, the action of New Patrons in Ile de France with the support of the Fondation de France.
