Rosario Peiró Carrasco is Director of the Museu Picasso Barcelona. She holds a degree in Geography and History from the University of Barcelona and completed further studies in Museography at George Washington University and Art History at Hunter College in New York. She has collaborated with institutions including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). In Spain, she worked with “la Caixa” Contemporary Art Collection (1998–99) and at the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), where she led several exhibition projects between 1998 and 2008. She also taught Art Theory at Pompeu Fabra University. From 2008, she was Director of Collections at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, where she promoted numerous exhibition and research projects and several collection rehangs, including Vasos Comunicantes (2021), the result of more than ten years of research and acquisitions. Her work at the Madrid museum included projects such as Nancy Spero. Disidanzas, Mínima resistencia, Ficciones y territorios, Poéticas de la democracia and Piedad y terror en Picasso. El camino a Guernica.
