French-Lebanese, Samia Saouma pursued studies at the Ecole du Louvre before opening an eponymous gallery focusing at first on photography with artists such as Robert Mapplethorpe or O. Winston Link. Samia Saouma then presented numerous artists from the German scene (Martin Kippenberger, Albert Oehlen, Rosemarie Trockel) and organized the first exhibitions of Christopher Wool and Marlene Dumas in France. She then joined Galerie Max Hetzler in Berlin as a partner. Samia Saouma is currently based in Paris where she leads the Paris branch of the gallery that opened in 2014.
