Silvia Zayas works between the boundaries of performing arts, video, and expanded choreography. She investigates ways of translating filmic language into different performative dispositifs. A cinema that works not exclusively with visual modes of perception, but with subtle forms of attention. A cinema that comes to haunt you through ghosts, holes and exclusions, underwater experiences, explosions, strange imaginaries of traces that were historical, and all that we cannot come to know yet. She searches for hybrid forms of research and artistic production through long-term projects, such as Jumping Scales (2017-2018), or the long-term project ruido ê that she is currently developing and is in residence within the GRAPA initiative (CCCB, Hangar, and UOC) and is supported by Fundación Carasso 2021-2023.
