A Chilean textile engineer, Ramón Sauma has been collecting art over 30 years. He is President and Co-Founder of Colección Ca.Sa, based in Santiago de Chile, a private collection of Latin American contemporary art, with a focus on post-1960 Chilean art. Started 25 years ago, hand in hand by Sauma (current chairman of the board) and Gabriel Carvajal (Director), the Foundation relies on three core principles: dissemination, promotion and education in contemporary art. In 2016, the “Ca.Sa Award” was born, which seeks to reward an emerging artist from the Ch.Aco and ArtLima fairs for the production of an artwork. In 2018, the Foundation established a 3-year-agreement with Guggenheim Museum in New York with view to donation of works.
