Samuel Leuenberger is an independent curator and cultural producer. He is the founder of SALTS, a non-profit exhibition space in Birsfelden and Bennwil, Switzerland, and a mentor at Institute Kunst Gender Nature (HGK) in Basel. Previous roles include positions at Kunsthalle Zurich, Christie’s Auctioneers in Zurich and Stephen Friedman Gallery in London.

He has contributed widely to international exhibitions and programs including Art Basel Parcours sector from 2016–2023 and Globus’ Public Art Project in collaboration with Fondation Beyeler from 2022–2025. Previous collaborations include Centro Parraga (Murcia), Misk Art Institute (Riyadh), Centre Pasquart (Bienne), Salon Suisse–Pro Helvetia (Venice), Les Urbaines (Lausanne) and 14 Rooms (Basel).

Most recent projects by Leuenberger include curating the 10th edition of the Biennale Gherdëina (Dolomites, Italy) and Plataforma’s 2026–2027 exhibition cycle, a new exhibition and residency program (Guadalajara, Mexico).

Leuenberger recently edited a survey book on Basel’s art institutions titled ABC BASEL, published by Mousse, and became co-host of the Basel-based Podcast, This is Basel. He is the curator of Chloe Wise’s Extrasensory exhibition at KBH.G, Basel, currently on view on Basel.
