Laura González Palacios

Laura González Palacios (b. 1980) holds a degree in Journalism and a Master’s in Book Publishing, with additional training in art, creativity, innovation, and management. She began her career in strategic and corporate communication for cultural projects, including World Press Photo Barcelona, Barcelona Creative Commons Film Festival, and the Photographic Social Vision Foundation. In 2013, she founded Chiquita Ediciones, an artist book publishing house, and in 2018 launched Chiquita Room, a contemporary art center that operates simultaneously as a gallery, residency, project curator, and publisher. Awarded Best Gallery Program 2025 by the Association of Art Galleries of Catalonia, Chiquita Room emphasizes interdisciplinary and collective work, supporting both local and international artists. She has curated exhibitions in her gallery and institutions including Museo MARCO (Spain), Centro Cultural de España Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Casa das Artes Bissaya Barreto, and Jardim Botânico da Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal).
