Barcelona Symposium 2025

Video recordings of the talks are being uploaded on the video channel section.
The Barcelona Symposium, Talking Galleries’ flagship event, returned in 2025 with a renewed edition—a space for meaningful exchange and critical reflection on the evolving gallery sector.
Held on October 6–7, 2025 at MACBA Auditorium, Barcelona, the symposium brought together leading voices from across the art world for two intensive days of dialogue on the most pressing issues shaping contemporary gallery practice and the art market today.
With renewed energy, the 2025 edition continued Talking Galleries’ mission of fostering open conversation, presenting a dynamic in-person programme in a welcoming environment for discussion, debate, and connection.
2025 Programme Highlights
Among the highlights of the this year’s conference were special interviews with renowned Mexican gallerist José Kuri (kurimanzutto) and Austrian gallerist Ursula Krinzinger (Galerie Krinzinger), who reflected on their distinguished careers in the gallery field, in line with the Symposium’s commitment to acknowledging significant gallery journeys.
In addition, this edition addressed current topics such as the art fairs landscape in a context of economic uncertainty, the evolution of the online art market, artificial intelligence as a new frontier for gallery practices, Generation Z collecting habits, the role of artistic residencies in gallery strategies, artists’ archives as an emerging market interest, sustainability in the arts sector, and the growing dialogue between art and luxury brands.
Speakers included Daniel G. Andújar (Artist), Mira Bernabeu (1 Mira Madrid / 2 Mira Archiv), Rebeca Blanchard (Prats Nogueras Blanchard), Luz Broto (Artist), Luigi Fassi (Artissima), Laura González Palacios (Chiquita Room), Carles Guerra (Artist, Independent Researcher and Curator), Llucià Homs (Talking Galleries), Dustyn Kim (Artsy), Maribel López (ARCO), Anna Manubens (Fundació Joan Miró), Róisín McQueirns (Francis Arts & Culture Management), Anders Petterson (ArtTactic), Alain Quemin (Sociologist of Art), Mazdak Sanii (Avant Arte), Tim Schneider (The Gray Market), Tom Seymour (Arts Journalist), Manuel Silva (Feltrero), Elena Soboleva (Art and Technologist Strategist), Olga Subirós (Architect and Curator) and Sarah Suco Torres (Las Cicadas / Can Garita).
