BARCELONA SYMPOSIUM 5th edition
16–17 January, 2017
Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA)
On January 16 and 17, Barcelona became a hub at the centre of a worldwide debate around the art gallery sector. The auditorium of the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) hosted the fifth edition of the Talking Galleries Barcelona Symposium, the first and only international event dedicated to gallerism. Talking Galleries, the professional platform for critical debate around contemporary art gallerism, gathered together over 200 professionals coming from 25 different countries, and with different profiles (gallerists, curators, art fairs’ and museums’ directors, dealers and art advisors, collectors, researchers, and specialized press).
Talking Galleries 2017 constituted an occasion for exchange where cogent issues surrounding contemporary gallerism where debated through a series of presentations and roundtable discussions.
